![]() ![]() but I doubt the stunt-man gets a fee every time the film plays, yet his family deserves something if he'd been killed. ![]() ![]() Of course now it's been corrupted by big-business, who demand artists sign away their rights in exchange for a small fee. I wonder if may folks wonder why "copyright" was invented? My understanding was that it provided an income for the dependants of an artist should he(she) die young.at least the family would be provided - and that's why it extended so many years after their death. Of course, you might take the view that as long as you keep (or destroy) the original, then a "better copy" is no loss to the Copyright holder. Most charity-shops sell-on DVDs quite cheaply. Techno boffins then add to this mindset.Ĭopying a VHS tape is only a problem if the copying m/c "recognises" the copy-protection.putting it on another VHS recorder should not be stopped, but as others have pointed-out, the quality of a new (genuine) DVD is likely to be better. Therein lies the problem when lawyers are paid fat fees they will always come up with more gobbledegeek. Sure, Copyright-busting is illegal, and strictly you have only "bought" the tape, not the 'content' - although only a fool would pay so much for a blank. Can't help feeling there is some confusion here. ![]()
